Here's a guide to the "Moulder of Mountains" quest in Genshin Impact. Remember, this guide reflects the general gameplay as of this writing. If there have been recent changes or updates to Genshin Impact specifics like rewards or exact quest mechanics might differ.
Unlocking the Quest
•Prerequisites: This quest is part of the Archon Quest Chapter I: Act I - Of the Land Amidst Monoliths. You must complete the previous quests in this chapter, including "An Impromptu Change of Plan," to unlock "Moulder of Mountains."
Quest Walkthrough
1.Seek Out Mountain Shaper: Your first objective will be to seek out the adeptus known as Mountain Shaper. This involves traveling to Mt. Hulao, located in Liyue.
2.Travel to Mt. Hulao: Head towards Mt. Hulao. You can glide from a higher point or climb up from the base.
3.Find and Talk to Li Ding: Upon reaching the area, you'll encounter a man named Li Ding, who's praying or cowering near a small pool of water. He'll tell you about his brother, Li Dang, trapped in amber.
4.Shatter the Amber: Follow the path down from where Li Ding is. Look for amber crystals along the path. One of these will contain Li Dang. Use attacks (preferably Pyro for effectiveness against the amber) to break it and free him.
5.Return to Li Ding: After freeing Li Dang, return to Li Ding to inform him. They'll express their gratitude and leave.
6.Meet Mountain Shaper: Once the brothers leave, Mountain Shaper will appear, initially upset about the freeing of the "thieves". Explain the situation regarding Rex Lapis's (Morax) supposed death. This conversation will reveal some lore and conclude the quest's interaction with Mountain Shaper.
Rewards
•Adventure EXP: Typically around 400 EXP, but this can vary.
•Mora: Roughly 12,250 Mora.
•Character Experience Materials: Like Adventurer’s Experience.
•Enhancement Materials: Mystic Enhancement Ore, useful for weapon enhancement.
Quest Tips
•Exploration: Use Elemental Sight: Often, clues or interactable objects are highlighted when using Elemental Sight, which can be crucial for solving puzzles or finding hidden paths.
•Climb and Glide: Liyue's terrain is mountainous. Be prepared to climb or use characters like Venti or Amber for their gliding or climbing utility.
•Geo Puzzles: Geo Constructs: Interact with or create Geo constructs to solve puzzles. They might need to be climbed on, used to block mechanisms, or to reach higher platforms.
•Weight Puzzles: Some puzzles might involve placing characters or items on pressure plates.
•Combat: Elemental Reactions: Use these to your advantage, especially if you encounter enemies with specific elemental shields or weaknesses.
•Protective Measures: Use characters with shields (like Noelle or Zhongli) if you find yourself taking too much damage.
•NPC Dialogue: Pay close attention to what characters say. They can provide hints or lore that might be key to understanding what to do next or the significance of your actions.
•Adaptability: Given the title "Moulder of Mountains," expect to change the environment in some way, either through puzzles or by altering the landscape to progress.
•Resource Management: Stamina: Manage your stamina carefully when climbing. Cook food that reduces stamina consumption if you haven't already.
•Save Points: Use waypoints to save your progress frequently, especially before attempting puzzles or entering areas where combat might occur.
General Tips
•Interactive Map: Use the in-game map to keep track of where you've been and where you might need to go. Marking locations can be helpful for backtracking or noting places of interest.
•Patience with Puzzles: Some puzzles might not be straightforward. Take your time to observe patterns or mechanisms.
•Co-op Mode: If you're stuck or find certain parts challenging, consider using co-op mode. Other players might offer different perspectives or help with tough enemies.
•Follow Quest Markers: While exploration is encouraged, make sure to follow quest markers when you're ready to progress the story to avoid getting too side-tracked.
